Hypersender uses

OTP verification API for user sign-in

Add phone verification to sign-in, account recovery, or a sensitive action with the Hypersender OTP API. Request a one-time code for WhatsApp or SMS, or create a passwordless WhatsApp link, then validate the code in your application.

One-time passcode verification flow connecting an app and a phone

How this workflow fits

Add verification where it matters

An OTP step can confirm access to a phone number during account creation, help recover an account, or approve a sensitive action. Decide which actions require verification and what your application should do after a successful or unsuccessful attempt.

  • Explain why the customer is being asked to verify.
  • Set an expiry period appropriate to the action.
  • Apply limits to requests and validation attempts.

Choose a code or link flow

The request-code endpoint generates a code and queues it for delivery to the supplied WhatsApp or SMS chat ID. The generate-link endpoint creates a WhatsApp link for passwordless verification. Validate codes through the validation endpoint; handle link success and failure with the configured callbacks.

  • Use codes when the user enters a value in your app.
  • Use links when passwordless WhatsApp sign-in fits your flow.
  • Keep credentials short-lived and out of application logs.

Keep authentication under your control

Hypersender provides OTP delivery and validation capabilities; your application remains responsible for account security, session creation, abuse controls, and user recovery. Review the endpoint requirements and test edge cases such as expired codes and repeated requests.

  • Never treat message submission alone as successful verification.
  • Choose WhatsApp or SMS deliberately for your integration.
  • Automatic fallback between channels is not implied.

Example: generate a WhatsApp OTP link

Call generate-link to create a passwordless WhatsApp verification link. The response includes a prefilled WhatsApp link; present it in your app or another channel so the user can open WhatsApp and complete the verification flow.

Generate link request

http
POST https://app.hypersender.com/api/otp/v2/{instance}/generate-link
Authorization: Bearer <token>
Content-Type: application/json

{
  "expires": 1800,
  "name": "Hypersender",
  "message": {
    "prompt": "Open this link to sign in",
    "success": "Sign-in confirmed",
    "failed": "Sign-in failed",
    "expired": "This link has expired"
  },
  "callback": {
    "success": "https://yourdomain.com/callback/success",
    "failed": "https://yourdomain.com/callback/failed"
  }
}

Example API response

json
{
  "success": true,
  "message": "OTP link request created successfully",
  "data": {
    "uuid": "<otp_uuid>",
    "code": "<generated_code>",
    "status": "pending",
    "otp_type": "link",
    "expires_at": "<ISO-8601 timestamp>",
    "whatsapp_link": "https://wa.me/<number>?text=<prefilled_verification_message>"
  }
}

The returned code and WhatsApp recipient are redacted. Treat generated verification data as sensitive, respect the configured expiry, and handle success and failure using your callback URLs.
