WhatsApp Message Capping
WhatsApp message capping limits how many new contacts you can message per cycle. See how Hypersender shows your quota and returns clear API errors.
We added message capping detection to Hypersender so you can see your quota before you hit it, and know the moment new-chat messages get blocked.
What is message capping
WhatsApp message capping is a quota on how many new contacts a number can message in a cycle. A new contact is a number with no existing chat history.
There are four statuses. NONE means no cap. FIRST_WARNING and SECOND_WARNING mean you are approaching the quota. CAPPED means you reached it and new-chat messages are blocked until the cycle resets.
When you are capped, messages to new contacts fail. Existing conversations keep working. Your instance stays connected. You do not need to scan a QR code again.
Hypersender cannot remove or reset the cap. Only Meta controls that.
What you see in your dashboard
When a cap is active, your connection page shows a progress bar with the used and total quota. It shows the percentage, the raw numbers (like "640 of 1,000 messages"), and the time left until the quota resets.
The bar color changes as you get closer. Amber for the first warning, orange for the second, red when you are capped.
We also send you an email when the status changes. One per status level per cycle, so we do not spam you.
What your API calls see
If your app tries to message a new contact while the account is capped, the API returns HTTP 423 with the reset time:

}Compare that to a normal send. When everything is fine you get the message ID back. When the cap is active you get an actionable error instead of a cryptic failure. Your code can show that to users, queue the message, or switch to a backup instance.
What to do
Keep messaging your existing contacts. Those still work.
If you need to reach new people now, use a different instance. Many users keep a backup number ready.
Let the cycle reset. Restarting or re-pairing your instance does not clear the cap.
